(IMG:http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n105/pr3ntice/BBCFootball.png) Saturday, 7th July 2007. Unknown youth takes on Fulham. Fulham Football Club have taken on an unknown manager to replace outraged Lawrie Sanchez in the clubs' hotseat. Josh Sykes, only twenty-six, has been named the manager for the Cottagers with no professional footballing experience but managing Preston non-leaguers Bamber Bridge. Fulham chairman Mohammed Al Fayed spoke to us just thirty-minutes ago about the decision. BBC: Mohammed, why has Josh Sykes beaten the likes of Alan Curbishley, Glen Hoddle & Steve McClaren to the job and how? MAF: Of course the mentioned managers could have won the job, but even with their own personal experiences in the game, Fulham Football Club is looking for someone to take us forward. For too long we have been battling relegations and fighting for a top-half finish and I firmly believe Josh Sykes is the man for the job. BBC: Well with many fans disappointed to have not got a big-name manager at the club, do you think this will hassle Sykes even more? MAF: It either will, or it won't. I am confident he will do us justice. He may not be experienced and the pressure is likely to bug him for a while, but if the board and I thought he wasn't a good candidate, we wouldn't be here now having this interview. BBC: Okay. With Fulham FC fully ridded of the nineteen-million pound debt that was hanging over your shoulders and Stuart Benson investing fourteen-million pounds in the club, how far are we going to see the club go this season in terms of transfers? MAF: We are hoping we can attract potential with our allocated money. Josh Sykes is in complete control over the clubs transfer activity and I'm sure he will spend wisely. BBC: Do you know of Josh Sykes' ambitions for the club? MAF: Well earlier today in our introductory board meeting, we discussed options and we have concluded that Josh Sykes will not be fighting the likes of Blackburn, Tottenham or Aston Villa for the top-six, instead we as a club will be building now for the future and to save our Premier League spot. BBC: Great, well good luck with the upcoming season. Thanks alot. MAF: Thankyou. Well I'll be damned. Not one "negative" word there. I suppose I better get a move on before the players think I've done a runner. So here a stand. Well, sit actually..In a small office at Motspur Park. Nothing more than a scratched oak table with admin papers scattered about with broken plastic trays labelled "Admin" and "GAFF". The fourteen-inch television in the far corner; beaming BBC Score Interactive. So here I am. Josh Sykes. Twenty-six years old and ready to have the time of my life. Last season was my worst full season ever. Well, my first aswell. Bamber Bridge finished 16th in the Northern Premier League Division One North, scraping relegation. Well I suppose £14k-a-week is a bit better than £20-a-week, but money wasn't an issue back then. Well I suppose its time to made miracles happen, like Chris Coleman, only a bit younger. Wait, the players. I still need to address them at the pitch. They've obviously seen me now from the pitch as the office, or wannabe-office overlooks the turf in a box. So here I am, Josh Sykes. Twenty-six years old and walking down the stone-chipped path onto the pitch of Fulham Football Club Reserves. So, there they are. The players. All gleaming there almost tippex-teeth at me, each with a ball at their feet. Collins John stepped forward, holding a bag of footballs in one hand and some training-cones in the other, trying to communicate with me in his cross-bred Dutch-English accent; "You ready Gaff?". You bet I am.. (IMG:http://www.fulhamfc.com/SiteElements/Images/structure/header/fulhamfc-logo.gif) Johnson pens for Craven Cottage - Players Revolt! Newly-appointed Fulham boss Josh Sykes has raised the eyes of fans and many other clubs, by managing to scoop-up Everton hitman Andy Johnson. Johnson, 26, put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal from Goodison Park for a fee of £9m. With Fulham chairman Mohammed Al Fayed warning Josh Sykes about Fulham's transfer-budget, Sykes has gone and made an impressive move says club spokesperson Bill Weaver, "Many of our fans are delighted and signing Andy Johnson but even more fans are worried about any more big-money signings. With the club only officially designating £16m to the transfer-budget and with the outgoing transfers of Seol, Smertin, McBride, Niemi and Stefanovic, the official budget has increased to £23.5m. Nontheless, just this one transfer has prooved Sykes wants good things for us". Well with Andy Johnsons high-status, both Collins John and Hameur Bouazza have complained about the squad size and about getting first-team places in the squad. At Craven Cottage after an open training session, Collins John spoke to us about how big the squad is getting and why it would affect the players that Josh Sykes hadn't brought in. BBC: Collins, reports are saying you have complained to Josh Sykes about first-team places, what is your main concern? CJ: Well there isn't really a concern, but I just want to make sure I have a place at Fulham. With Andy Johnson here and Shefki Kuqi on loan aswell, I'm not confident we will have any other strikers playing. BBC: If the squad just keeps on growing, would you vow to leave the club? CJ: If it gets to a serious level where I'm being ignored by the boss or I am simply not wanted, then yes. Fulham has been my home since 2003 and I want it to be my home for the rest of my career, but if I am not in Sykes' plans, then the matter will need to be resolved. BBC: And has Josh Sykes reassured you at all? CJ: Yes, in a way he did. In the changing rooms, a couple of us just had a quick chat and stated our cases. He had said to all of us that we are staying and that Andy Johnson is just one of the revolutions he is planning to start. BBC: Thankyou for speaking to us Collins and best of luck for the season. CJ: Good bye, thankyou very much. Now this office is more like it. This is my office. An office just a bit bigger than a master bedroom in a three-bedroom house. What a fucking liberty. I'm priveliged to sit down in my office with a large, semi-circular desk with a big black swivel-chair with my laptop on one side and more papers on the other, watching a thirty-four inch plasma T.V on the wall, to see what? Collins John bitching, thats what. Its the press that is. They make you say stuff, do stuff. Well not to my bastard players you don't. Well, I suppose I better see if X-Files is on FX. "'Scuse me boss, can I 'ave a word?" Danny Murphy. What a great guy he is. As soon as a touched that grass down at Motspur Park, he was in my face asking what lager I drank. The only thing that hes done to annoy me so far is do that silly knock people do. You know the one, the knocker knocks once and opens the door without waiting for a reply. I could have been on the phone, hearing his pathetic Chester accent over the voice on the other end. I just smiled "Come in Danno". So he did. He sat down in the chair in front of my desk, a brand-new black leather rocker. Priveliged to sit there he is. "I'm sorry boss, but I have some problems back home, can I leave just for somethin' like a week?" Who the fuck does he think he is? Well, I'm about to find out.. Murphy off on "personal absence". 08.07.07. Fulham's attacking midfielder Danny Murphy has been given "personal leave" by boss Josh Sykes. Murphy, 30, is claimed to have some personal problems back in Chester with his parents. Murphy has been nowhere to be seen, but Josh Sykes had given us a bit more information. "Well Danny came into my office and said it plain to me. Something had gone on at home which I'd rather not tell you lot that, but I have given him a two-week break, with pay. He will officially return to training with us on the twenty-fith. Thanks for your interest, but it isn't presently wanted". With last months transfer rumours about Murphy leaving Craven Cottage seeming to creep back up again, the situation is rife, claims Sykes. So what do us high-profile managers have to do to avoid the limelight?! Its as if BBC have reporters around the corner from my house, Sky Sports at my local, Sultana down at the newsagents and ITV Sports down my damn toilet. Honestly. Well, Whatever next? I'm sure some aliens are gonna land in the middle of my pitch and all of the press are going to cover it all, claiming I have some part to play in it. Well, things are looking up. I've just spoken to Jaques Gérard, a popular French agent about Fabien Barthez. Thats the one, that goalkeeper who needed the loo against West Ham for United when Paulo Di Canio scored. Yeah, well, he's a free agent you see. If we sign him, he bloody needs to go to the toilet before the game. I don't really know how managers find these players. I have a couple of my scouts in Africa at the moment, but other than that, Football Manager 2008 is really coming in handy. If I hear of a player, I check him on that, and then check his performances for his club. Amazing init?? Oh now bloody what? Whos on the damn phone now? In a snappy way, I shouted HELLO down the phone. "Excuse me?" Oh, its Mr. Mohammed. "Care to come down to our function room? We've got a press-conference in ten". Oh joy.. (IMG:http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n105/pr3ntice/BBCFootball.png) Wednesday, 11th July 2007. Sykes' first press-conference. Live at Craven Cottage, Josh Sykes is set to make his first official press-release as manager of Fulham Football Club. The conference is set to state his ambitions for the club, transfers, players and more. With Josh Sykes "fashionably late" by five-minutes, journalists and fans weren't impressed. Mohammed Al Fayed was the first to break the peace, stating Sykes' position. "Josh Sykes has taken charge here at Fulham Football Club because we as a club feel he is a suitable candidate. We are going to show the Premier League that you don't need to be well recognized as a manager to take on a club in the best league in the world". Al Fayed then sat down and Josh Sykes was the next to rise, to play his part today in this press-conference. "Thankyou to Mohammed for sticking by me and keeping it positive, but making sure I know my place. I've come from one side of the country to another to take charge of Fulham. Overall, I feel I'm ready to show the world what Englands smaller teams can do. I have the ambition to show the rest of the league that you do not need to be Scottish and chew Wrigley's for ninety minutes to survive in modern-day football. I-" I fucked up, thats what I-. Well, I'm surely going to go down in Fulhams history today. Not for the youngest ever manager, or spending the least money, but to throw up a Pot Noodle all over the conference table and run like hell to my office. Well, here I am. Josh Sykes. Twenty-six years old, in a new clean suit and suffering from a migraine. So there I was, live national television, slightly taking the piss out of the great Sir Alex Ferguson's match-tactics and then I throw up everywhere. Well, I'll spend the rest of the day scouting for players, without Football Manager. Well, I lied just then, my squad is too big. Says a Moroccan and probably the best U21 Dutch player the Premiership has thus seen. So, I'll get interested in some players, while planning outgoing transfers. I just lied again. I need to devise a plan for my match against a Belgian team. A small one, so I don't know what they're properly called. There goes the damn phone again. If its from the board, I'll resign now. Well..Well..Well. Danny Murphy. He's all ready to come back and is stuck in traffic on the M53. Nice surprise. Nice return, he can buy me a Stella when he gets back. Well, everyones gone except from the boring admin staff and David, my PA, who seems to think he should leave at the same time as me. Whatever turns him on I suppose.. (IMG:http://www.goal.com/images/177_hp.jpg) 14.07.07 - Dilbeek 0 - 4 Fulham. A. Johnson(36) C. John(47) D. Healy(76) S. Kuqi(87) Fulham kicked-off their pre-season with this match against Belgian outsiders Dilbeek. Fulham laid back for a while, letting Dilbeek get in some great chances, but in the thirty-sixth minute, newboy Andy Johnson fired home with a header. There wasn't any decent football for the next ten minutes, with Fulham leading by one goal at the break. Josh Sykes changed the whole squad at half time, giving Many fringe-players a start. Two minutes after kick-off, Dilbeek defender Toni Devoor made a horendous pass-back to his goalkeeper and Collins John snapped the ball from the Belgians. Next up to score was David Healy with a deflected free-kick. The fourth and final goal came from one-month loanee Shefki Kuqi with a header from a Healy corner. Fulham end the game as winners and Andy Johnson has been deemed as a hero by fans after his goal. Josh Sykes managed to get to one of our reporters through a narrow crowd at Dilbeek's stadium, sharing his thoughts on the match. "Well it was great to watch AJ to get his first goal on his debut. It wasn't the classiest of goals but it counts. We've come away with the win and the morale in the squad couldn't be any higher and we'll certainly be looking to build on this performance throughout our pre-season campaign right into the season". (IMG:http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n105/pr3ntice/BBCFootball.png) Monday, 16th July. Fabien Barthez moves to Fulham. (IMG:http://www.goalkeeping.com/uploads/RTEmagicC_Barthez.jpg.jpg) Barthez to Craven Cottage. French goalkeeping veteran Fabien Barthez has signed a two-year deal at Fulham. Barthez, 36, had been a free-agent since his contract at FC Nantes ran out last month. Fulham boss Josh Sykes had been pleased that Barthez agreed terms with the club, hoping he will be a good role-model for the youngsters at Craven Cottage. "Just about everyone knows about Fabien. He once was a great goalkeeper and in my mind, he still is. I have signed him because he still has what it takes to be successful in professional football. I also firmly believe he can coach our youngsters and pass on his knowledge to future goalkeepers". Barthez didn't want a big fuss about the deal and didn't say much revealing, except he was proud to be at the club. "I am pleased to be here and hope to be a big help to Fulham and its a great way to return to English football". (IMG:http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n105/pr3ntice/BBCFootball.png) Tuesday, 17th July. Middlesbrough anchorman signs for Fulham. Fulham manager Josh Sykes has yet again opened his chequebook, this time signing Middlesbrough man George Boateng. Boateng, who turns 32 next month, has announced his move to Fulham will get him back into competitive football. "I have been happy at my time at Middlesbrough, but Fulham is the club that need me now. I am getting a bit old now but Fulham are one of the teams battling for survival this year and I hope I can do them right". It is confirmed that the transfer fee has cost Fulham £1m without clauses. The Flying Dutchman is also trying to get into mainstream football to add to his 4 caps he has recieved for Holland, hoping that Marco van Basten will give him a recall soon. (IMG:http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n105/pr3ntice/BBCFootball.png) Tuesday, 17th July. United hopeful signs for Fulham. (IMG:http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x240/Travel-Inn/tomclev.jpg) Cleverley done. One of Manchester United's youth players has signed for Premiership spenders Fulham. Tom Cleverley, 17, has expressed his delight on signing a contract with Fulham, claiming he is ready for the challenge. "Manchester United will of course always be in my heart but I've been given a chance and I've had to take it. Fulham isn't the best club I would have liked to have moved to, but Josh Sykes has promised me something United didn't and thats first-team football. I feel ready for the challenge at the club". Fulham boss Josh Sykes has also had his say on Cleverley's move. "I did have a scout on him for about three-weeks and I took an interest in him. He is a bright lad with a rosy-bright future". Cleverley's transfer has cost Fulham £1.2m and hopefully his hefty price tag will do him some justice. Oh yes, of course, where was I. I'm obsessed with seeing myself on Sky Sports News now. If I'm in my office doing work or watching the lads from the window at Motspur Park, I'll have the tele on and see what everyone is saying about me or my players. The downside to this is I'll get angry if anything false crops up, such as I've just kicked a boot at the wall and it magically hits Jimmy Bullard on the 'brow, leaving his face a bit more uglier than it already is. Well, I can now report that my squad is shaping up. Mohammed isn't breathing down my neck anymore thank God Almighty. I still need to work out which players to sell. All of the lads are great and even the ones that can't speak the lingo properly, they still know when to say yes or laugh. The strains of football. Maybe I could invite Bamber Bridge over to our place for a friendly. You know what? I might just do that. It'll be a nice catch-up and of course all proceeds will go to them. After all, they are non-league. I think we need to play a big team. We need a good competition so I can see what I'm up against. Maybe Milan or Real Madrid. Howzat! Ugh, I hate cricket.. (IMG:http://www.goal.com/images/177_hp.jpg) 17.07.07 - Virton 0 - 7 Fulham. J. Nicolay(50) H. Lenaerts(68) --- D. Kamara(19, 30) C. Dempsey(40) C. John(46, 63, 73) D. Healy(80) I was pleased with the win. Angry at how those damn Belgians hack everyone down like a pissin' tree. Still, we kicked their arse seven-nil, thats good enough revenge for me. I believe there wasn't any press coverage for this as Virton are really, really rubbish. Kamara did nicely and with the type of top-drawer goals he scored, he certainly is living up to his £6m price-tag. As for the rest, well done I suppose. In the changing rooms at full-time, you should have seen Colly's face. Scoring a hat-trick like that made his grin grow from ear-to-ear as the rest of the team were praising him. You know what? I think I have this job sussed out now. I really do. I'm not planning on spending now. Just a tiny bit more selling and then I'm done for the season. Or until January anyway. So here I am. Josh Sykes. Twenty-six and sitting at my new home, which a few of my mates managed to move all my stuff into for a few bob, and beers, watching my thirty-inch plasma T.V; locked on Sky Sports News. The thing I hate about that channel is its on a loop until breaking news. So, is X-Files on FX or not? |

K. Dyer(58) --- A. Johnson(10) In one of the least interesting matches today, West Ham & Fulham drew in quite a boring game. Andy Johnson lightened the mood with an overhead-kick in the tenth minute. With Fulham backing down and West Ham piling on the pressure, Fulham were leading by the break. Kieron Dyer grabbed a goal back with a header from a Freddy Ljungberg cross. Fulham had a goal disallowed when Harry Kewell pushed Nobby Solano out of the way to head the ball into the back of the net. Both teams go away with one point and a largely disappointing performance for West Ham, who were favourites for a 2-0+ win. Josh Sykes said after the game - "It wasn't the best of starts and the squad know it. We had chances and we never took them. After half-time alot of the lads were tired and West Ham just kept going which really put pressure on us. In the end, I just said to my lads that we didn't need to win this as by this time they'd already impressed me enough. I could have accepted a one-nil win but Dyer had to steal the point. Well done to West Ham and to my boys, a good enough performance in my books". My heart was thudding on the coach. All I could think of is judgement day. Tomorrow, we'll have a board meeting. Its just a check-up from the people high-up about my performance so far. I'm surely getting the boot any time soon. This is a too bigger challenge for me. Positive. Just looking around at the lads on our coach; It made me feel gutless. Andy Johnson was knackered, Jimmy Bullard sprawled across the back seats with his bruised head. Nightmare. Atleast the coach journey wasn't long. Not long enough... D. Kamara(3, 6) A. Johnson(21, 29) D. Murphy(44) S. Davis(59) --- K. Jones(52) In a one-sided result, Fulham pulled off a stunning six-one win over newly promoted Sunderland. Fulham kicked-off and Diomansy scored two early goals, both one-man efforts. Andy Johnson was the next man to score a goal with an impressive lob over Sunderland 'keeper Craig Gordon. Andy Johnson struck again, when he battled his way through Kieron Richardson to head the ball into the back of the net. Just before the break, Danny Murphy scored a deflected free-kick from twenty-six yards, making the goal his first for Fulham. Fulham go into the dressing room as leaders with a five-goal lead. Sunderland manager Roy Keane made sure his boys would grab a goal so Mark Schwarzer wouldn't keep a clean-sheet and they did just that. Kenwyne Jones got Sunderland's only goal with a half-volley from a Dean Whitebread corner. Sean Davis got Fulham's last goal of the game with a tap-in which Sunderland players protested for offside, but it wasn't given. Fulham go away now with three-points, making this their first win after drawing with West Ham last weekend. "A'ight boss, hope I 'int disturbin' you or anythin'". Like hell you are, I'm watching Sky Sports News. Owen Garvan, that dude I signed from Ipswich. Bloody Irish. Hes quite a charming lad actually, but a bit clumsy. Every now-and-again he'll knock at my office door and we'll just chat. I'm like his councilor really, but I don't go into all his personal life. He came in to my office with a case of Jamesons' Whisky, a present from his mum to me. Bless her little cotton socks. If his mother wheres cotton socks. I insisted it'll be saved when we have a special occasion or something as the poor bugger wanted me to have some now. I signalled him to leave as the phone rang. "Excuse me sir, is this Josh Sykes?". Nope, I'm the Queens' secret daughter.. J. Agahowa(25, 78) A. Valencia(46) --- D. Kamara(4) In a well deserved win for Wigan became an embarassing three-one defeat for Fulham. Diomansy Kamara pounced on to the ball in the fourth-minute and slotted home a goal. Julius Agahowa pulled one back for Wigan with a powerful strike. Antonio Valencia grabbed a goal for Wigan straight after kick-off with an impressive dribble. Julius Agahowa grabbed his second to make it three-one with a half-volley. No surprises as to who grabbed Man of the Match, Agahowa for his goals and how he contstantly went on the attack. Fulham boss Josh Sykes shook hands with Chris Hutchings and then stormed off into the dressing room without leaving comment to members of the press. Well done to Wigan for snatching the three-points. (IMG:http://www.goal.com/images/177_hp.jpg) 29.08.07 - Port Vale 0 - 6 Fulham. A. Johnson(12, 15, 21, 73) D. Haynes(18) H. Bouazza(49) A. Johnson missed penalty(90) Fulham bounced back from their three-one defeat against Wigan in the Premier League three days ago by thrashing Port Vale six-nil at Vale Park. With Fulham manager Josh Sykes not taking any chances and playing eight first-team players, the Premiership outfits came out on top. Andy Johnson was the first man to score today with a strike from twenty-five yards out. Johnson grabbed another goal three-minutes afterwards after claiming the ball from a pass-back from Vale defender Richard Walker. Fulham loanee Danny Haynes scored a dramatic lob to make it three-nil. Andy Johnson once again scored a goal, claiming a hat-trick with a header from a Boateng cross. Fulham went into the break with a comfortable lead and eased the pedal a bit but substitute Hameur Bouazza wanted a goal as soon as he came on and he got it by scoring a beautiful thirty-five yard strike. Fulham calmed down and played like it was a training session until Andy Johnson grabbed his fourth goal with yet another header. Vale defender Mark McGregor fouled Chris Baird in the box and the referee awarded a penalty, which was struck clean-over by Andy Johnson and the Fulham players laughed it off. Fulham ended the game, winning six-nil against the League One side and Josh Sykes had said his word. "A great win I suppose. I could have saved my players for our game against Tottenham but I didn't think about that at the time. Nontheless, we came out on top. Fair play to Vale as they really did try hard. Well done to the goalscorers and the penalty-missers, alongside Martin Foyle who tried hard to test us, fair play to everyone". Congratulations to Fulham who are through to the Third Round of the League Cup. Mohammed Al Fayed was just on the phone, putting me off the storyline of this episode of X-Files. The Bigman enjoyed watching Fulham win six-nil. Apparently I'm doing a good job so far, considering the circumstances. You'll have to wait and see for the 'Spurs game. We'll get murdered in that match, and we're at home. Suppose I better get on that pitch as I've heard a few of the lads asking why I'm never really training them. Oh yes, its an open-training day today. Means I better get a move on or I'll miss the show. Hmm, too bad. If I wanted a show in training, maybe I should of applied for the United job... (IMG:http://www.goal.com/images/177_hp.jpg) 1.09.07 - Fulham 2 - 4 Tottenham. A. Johnson(11) H. Kewell(81) --- L. Young-Pyo(6) R. Keane(8) J. Jenas(14) S. Malbranque(62) Tottenham fans will be happy with the performance by their club today as they managed to beat Fulham four-two at Craven Cottage. Lee Young-Pyo grabbed Tottenham's early lead with a crappy shot in a poorly defended attack. Just two-minutes after, things were looking bad for Fulham as Robbie Keane fired home one of his signature goals by striking hard and low past Mark Schwarzer. Fulham pulled one back through an Andy Johnson shot and Fulham seemed back in the game until Jermaine Jenas scored Tottenham's third with a free-header. Tottenham went into half-time with a comfortable two-goal lead and Fulham boss Josh Sykes stormed into the dugout along side his players. Steed Malbranque put Fulham away with a strong free-kick from thirty-yards. Harry Kewell scored a scorcher of a goal with an over-head kick, but it wasn't enough. Tottenham win four-two and bag all three-points. Josh Sykes spoke to us earlier. "Quite disappointing as I had my lads believing we had a chance, but it wasn't to be. Maybe when we go to White Hart Lane we'll get them". "Don't be so down on the Tottenham game Josh, your really shaping us out and I have every confidence in you". Now I'm being reassured by Momo. Whatever next? Our training session this morning was amazing. We worked three-straight hours before having a rest. I now firmly believe I can stop taking the piss out of myself and work hard. Not just for me, but for Fulham Football Club. I have alot of people on my shoulders, counting on me. And I don't wanna let them down. Well, the only negative is that we have Liverpool next. Couldn't I just play Port Vale again? Of course not. Stand your ground and fight, you useless man... |

It's your thread so update it as you will. However make sure you keep it in a story format because just posting your results or something like that will class it more as a current game thread than a story. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It's your thread so update it as you will. However make sure you keep it in a story format because just posting your results or something like that will class it more as a current game thread than a story. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Yep, thanks for that, I'll bear that in mind. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

(IMG:http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n105/pr3ntice/BBCFootball.png) Sunday, 16th September 2007. Aston Villa 5 - 2 Fulham. G. Agbonlahor(2) S. Petrov(40) N. Reo-Coker(45) L. Moore(51, 57) --- D. Murphy(6) A. Johnson(90) A confident performance by the home side as they thrashed Fulham five-two at Villa Park. Villa hopeful Gabriel Agbonlahor scored the first goal with a bursting run through defender Frank Sinclair before chipping the ball over Mark Schwarzer. Danny Murphy pulled one back for Fulham with a curving twenty-five yard shot. The match was neck-and-neck for alot of the half until Stiliyan Petrov threw himself infront of the defenders and scored with a header. Nigel Reo-Coker scored Villa's third by rounding Schwarzer and scoring with ease. Villa went into half-time with a two-goal lead and boss Martin O'Neill even cracked a smile. Just after kick-off Luke Moore pounced on the ball and scored two lobs which put Fulham away. Fulham were trying to not concede anymore goals and go down with some level of dignity by scoring one last goal, no other than Andy Johnson, getting his head to the ball from an early ball. Fulham boss Josh Sykes happily shook O'Neill's hand and went into the changing rooms with a smile on his face. He later revealed why he was so happy. "Quite frankly I was pleased with my boys. Its not the best scoreline to loose by but I still think we did well, especially Andy Johnson who is scoring quite regular. All credit to both teams, well done to everyone". "I was expecting something a bit more, how would we say it...Magical". If he wanted Magical, he should of booked a holiday to Disneyland Florida. Even though we got thrashed, I personally think it was a good game for us. Only that I'm not sure about my training regimes and I think I'm putting too much pressure on the lads. No wonder why Sky Sports News are saying all my players look knackered. Suppose I should be worrying about something else. Oh yes, I almost forgot, United next...
