Who is the best free agent player that you have ever sign???, for me as i'm relatively a newbie is ivica mornar and matias almeyda, mornar scored 15 goals for me while almeyda is a beast,he would break up the play with his feisty challenges and sometimes scoring unbelievable goals, both of them are pure revelation to my side!! I got Carlos Tevez for free from ManU for Juventus. Poached him right up. Also in that same season I grabbed Petri Pasanen( a bad ass center back).

In other games I have gotten Mascherano, Giuseppe Rossi, Yakubu, and Andrea Pirlo for free. Just gotta keep your eyes open and every January search for players whose contract expire in six months time. You can often grab gems either to keep or sell on next summer.

At the start of the game (updated) there's a Brazilian called Cesar who's a free agent, he usually favours going to Italian clubs btw...

On a short game it would probably be David Albelda and Alex Mostivoi.
