I have finally pre-ordered FML tonight.
Unfortunately, the Chester-le-street cavaliers are no more. Metropolis City FC ftw! Im in Gameworld Shearer along with all the EEFA lads that helped me in the BETA. LFC Cross, or whoever else is considering buying it, go in Shearer! (Even if he is a twatting newcastle player) |

It seems like a good deal of the top teams and mods/orgs from GW2 are signing up for Shearer as well - Eric Davis, Immi Awan, Robson Brown, etc. Be prepared in having your ass handed to you! (you're in for an even more rude awakening if Jack Hayward & Luis Lopes end up there as well)

What? :S Cant be worse than a couple of guys we had in our BETA Gameworld, Aiden parry and Josh "Flores=God' grrr....spam is something they breathe. |

Why? What? :S Oh, I'm not talking about insults, spam, chat, etc... I'm just saying that users coming from GW2 are likely some of the best FML managers across the entire beta. It was the first world created after the alpha GW1 phase so many have been playing since last Oct/Nov or even further back. It's only been in the past month or so that I've even been able to compete with these guys and I'm ranked in the top 25ish. Good luck! ::evil laugh:: |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Nah, I've been playing since beginning of April (about 5 months)... I was saying that only within the past 6 weeks or so I've been able to compete against the top 5 teams in the GW and pull out a result. Especially on the u21 level, Jack's Blackpool Lights were nearly unbeatable... while he's not an expert-level tactician, his overall playing sense in FML is extremely good. Luis Lopes on the other hand kind of just built up a war chest and now plays only a minimal squad with astromical AFs (and a wage budget near 500k). My ranking progression has been something like... End of April - 220ish End of May - 140ish End of June - 60 to 80 End of July - 30ish (highest being 23rd) As far as relative squad strength, I'm the highest ranked team with the lowest combined AF. Basically this means I'm extremely good at getting the most out of the least amount of money. I've only paid more than MV for one player ever and I typically buy around AF for most. It's also very rare that I sell players without making a profit and I regularly offload guys every season for up to 2-3x the amount I paid for them. Add to the fact that a few 20-22 year-old sales has paid for my youth setup in it's entirety and I'm in great financial shape. All of this while maintaining a regionalistic squad (North & Central America) as well as only having Tactics Level 2 (I use only the default sets with minimal global slider changes) - I believe I could be in the top 10 had I've not restricted myself in this way to give myself a much more rewarding & realistic challenge. I'm always up for extended discussion and debate on gameplay strategies, so if you want to know my "secrets", just get involved a bit more and post questions and/or ideas on how you go about playing the game. |

Tactics in Football Manager have always been a success for me and I've always enjoyed them. However tactics on FML seem to be my downfall. I mean, I've got quite a lot of money still, my skills are pretty good nowadays, and my team is pretty decent for my sort of standard team (3 stars).
If we ever get our Gameworld 6 back up after the heaps of downtimes and issues these past few days, our season should be starting this week. I finished 4th in the EEFA Championship last season, and I would really like to build on that. I've made some good signings but again, my tactics let me down. I've spent hours trying different tactics, making my own, analyzing my players and building formations around them, but what particular tactics have really worked for you, and helped you shoot up the rankings so much? Anything you advise? |

Can I ask Jordan, do you play attacking football or defensive football? If you could describe your team and compare to a real life team style that would be interesting. And if you have played this top managers, maybe show us some of your results?
Thanks for your information as well. |

I may preorder and play but its just kind of expensive and my funds are limited since I'm coming to the UK. Does anyone have a beta discount they don't plan to sue to send my way? That would make it much better. And how much does FM09 cost when it comes out? I kind of have to balance the two out as that was all I have actually put aside for game money. I knew I should have gotten a job this summer.

FM usually costs no more than 30 pound sin Shops, and can be bought a fair bit cheaper off sites like Amazon and play.com for around 23 pounds.

That I could maybe do. If not the year than the three month or 6 month. Maybe I'll just go sell some Xbox games or something to get some cash

oh ok. Well 35 pounds comes to around$67 and that is pretty good so if I can make $30 or so selling some shit it can be doable. But I just need that discount first.
