Yes, I got sacked as manager of Manchester United, I dont know what went wrong I would beat Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea 4-0 etc, but against the smaller clubs like Sunderland, Hull, Stoke etc I would be getting beat 2-1, 3-2 and so on... I was decent in the Champions League with only one defeat in the group stage against PSV which was 2-0 but beat them 6-1 in the next meeting...



So anyways I was sitting 11th in the league 14 points behind first 14 games into the season. I was begin to turn things round I was on a 3 match unbeaten run and was literrely destroying teams 3-0 +... I was just finished beating bolton 4-2 and came out of the game next day I was sacked... I checked the league table and I was 7th with a goal difference of +8 I thought I done well to get to 7th from 11th and get my get my goal difference from 0 to 8+.



Anyways so I went on holiday after getting the sack in November.



At this point I would like to point out before I started the match I used editor and added Celtic and Rangers to Coca-Cola League 2 I gave my living room a bit of a tidy but by the time I got back to my laptop I was manager of Rangers and was in march I returned and resigned immediatly because I didnt want Rangers on my C.V but now I cant be bothered with this save and cannot be bothered starting again...



Yes this post is pretty pointless but the fact is I just wanted to let out something

I think the tactics are quite crap on FM 09, I mean you can do the same player directions that you could on FM 08.

There more complex i wouldnt say crap. I finshed 3rd in my first season with Manchester City. Just have to be patient.



Create a game for developing tactics and then implement them into a proper game.



Try making tactics with Everton or something so atleast you have a base team thats OK.

I knew it was going to happen but I was starting to pull myself up the table then they sack me.



The only thing I dont know whether to attack or defend but United are an attacking team and I used attacking tactics

okay giggs fitness deteriorated so I dropped him to reserves and brung in Kroos and Guardado but they were used as sub/backup my first team was

MC: Scholes/ Anderson

MC: Carrick

ML: Nani



FC: Tevez/ Rooney

FC: Berbatov



I bought more players than Kroos and Guardado but they were put into the reserves or under 19 because they were future stars.

Yes most of the time... If the player is a fast striker I set tackling for him to hard if he is a tall striker I use tight marking and if I know the wingers are dangers Weaker foot and closing down always.

You obviously under-performed a bit but many people I know have struggled on this game. You are not on your own.



Like allan has been saying, just try some different tactics, don't be afraid to change things and you will come across one which works for you. It's trial and error initially. You do need patience.

I'm really struggling with United, i have an excellent team, but i dont blame tactics i blame the board, the pitch state is terrible, but they wont part with cash to relay it, going to fire about tactics, im not quitting my game until im sacked or i win my maiden premier leauge and get revenge for my champions leauge final defeat.

My tactic would work well for Man U as you can include Ronaldo, Tevez, and Rooney in the AMC Trio behind berbatov. The only weak part would be your right back, Neville would do but I'd suggest you grab more of a wingback type. My suggestion would be grabbing who I got, Darijo Srna. Absolute menace of a right back and makes Danny Alves look like a little kid.

However signed up with "them" Celtic at the start of 2012/13 season after they sacked saint martin o'neil.

I have never tried the FC/ST weaker foot because I always fought that by doing that you would be inviting the strikers to shoot but I will have to give that a go http://fmdiscussion....n_thumbs_up.gif

Ok, this has nothing to do with Man Utd but i have some big problems with my FK Vojvodina! This clubs destiny is to be 3rd in Serbian superleague (after Partizan and Red Star)! After 3 seasons i finaly made a great team and tactic, and my team is playing amazingly! The problem is that aleksandar davidov who has long shots 6 scores from 35 meters in last minute against me and final score is 1:1! And than Nebojsa Marinkovic with free kick taking like 10, scores against my side from 30 meters long free kick! That wouldnt be a problem if things like this wouldnt happen all the time http://fmdiscussion...._DIR#>/sad.gif! Its like AI is against me!

I was 10th after 13 games with Barca and never got the sack I turned things around and got them to finish 2nd Real went unbeaten for the whole season so there was no catching them, you should change your tactics around a bit they usually work.
